Recommendations for pre-budget memorandum 2018-19

Representational pictureMumbai : The AIAI will submit its Pre-Budget Memorandum to the Ministry of Finance, Government of India for Union Budget 2018-19 in early October 2017. As in the past you are requested to send your valuable inputs and specific suggestions for inclusion in the memorandum. Your suggestions and views may be supplemented and justified by relevant statistical information about structure of duties and taxes, both direct and indirect with due justification and any other information to support your recommendations. 

As regards to indirect taxes, proposals may be given as hitherto suggesting modifications in the rates of customs duties with proper justification and relevant statistical information about production, imports, prices of the items affected and revenue implications of the  recommendations.

As for the Goods and Services Tax (GST), changes have been made in the rates in respect of many items/services based on representations from the trade and industry. Your suggestions may include proposals relating to GST laws as well as the rates. 

Proposals may also be given for any major procedural change or administrative reforms in the tax machinery for inclusion in the memorandum.

• Direct Taxes
• Indirect Taxes( GST, Customs and others)
(II)   Industry : 
• Manufacturing
• Agriculture & Food Processing
• Services
• Skill Development
• Healthcare
• Infrastructure
• Banking and Finance
• Trade Remedy Measures to safeguard Indian Industry
