Sinhgad Institutes got second prize in science exhibition

Kusgaon : On the occasion of national science day 28 February 2019 there is a grand Science Exhibition in which many schools and colleges exhibit their best projects, and prizes are given for the best entries in different categories. Project must consist of a working model on any educational, technical theme and related information sheets for display. This year Sinhgad Technical Education Society’s (STES’s) Sinhgad Institute of Technology (SIT), Kusgaon Lonavala’s Team of two students Vaibhav Nagale and Saurabh Bhalerao of final year BE (Mech) participated in the exhibition. The second prize was won by them.

Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) at Khodad, in Junnar tehsil of Pune district is the world's most powerful radio telescope operating at low radio frequencies, has been built and is operated by the National Centre for Radio astronomy (NCRA) and Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) under the control of Dept. of atomic Energy (DAE), govt. of India. 'GMRT' Observatory also conducts programmes to popularise science and technology among the general public, especially the students community. National Science Day is celebrated at GMRT on 28th Feb., and the next day every year.

The theme of the project was “Synthesis and characterization Nickel hydroxide/reduced grapheme oxide for mechanical applications” in engineering category. They were guided by Prof. Prasad Lokhande from mechanical Engineering dept. and team was coordinated by Prof. S. S. Godichar of IT dept. Prin. Dr. M. S. Gaikwad who always inspired the students. All the teachers from SIT congratulated Vaibhav and Saurabh for their success.
