CM Fadnavis visits test site of Hyperloop in Nevada

Devendra Fadnavis with CEO of Virgin Hyperloop One, Rob Lloyd (middle) at the facilityNevada : as part of his week-long visit to Dubai, Canada and the United State Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis visited the test site of Virgin Hyperloop One in Nevada in the United States. During the site visit, he also met the CEO & Board Member of Virgin Hyperloop One, Rob Lloyd. In February 2018, Maharashtra Government had signed a MoU with Sir Richard Branson-led Virgin Group to build the Mumbai-Pune hyperloop. Post MoU, so far, Virgin Hyperloop One has completed the pre-feasibility study for Mumbai-Pune route.

During meeting, with CEO, Fadnavis discussed the feasibility of fast-tracking the deployment roadmap. Up to now, for hyperloop, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority has identified 15 KM row demonstration track. It is noteworthy that 70 Percent of materials and components required for Hyperloop will be sourced from Maharashtra itself.

Once operational, the hyperloop will help commuter to cover the distance from Mumbai to Pune in just 25 minutes. Besides, being 100 percent electric, Hyperloop will ease expressway congestion and will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is anticipated that this will be operational by 2024.

Meeting in San Francisco
Devendra Fadnavis with CEO of Oracle, Safra Katzduring meeting with CM of Maharashtra Fadnavis, CEO of Oracle, Safra Catz in San Francisco agreed to start advanced data centres in Mumbai and requested Fadnavis to help facilitate and fast-track investment in data centres. Fadnavis has assured the CEO that his government will extend all the required support.

Keeping public welfare in mind, both have also agreed to set up a joint group which will work towards deploying artificial intelligence on government data. For making this possible, Government of Maharashtra will closely work with Oracle to build a common data mechanism for government. Once active, this will enable citizens to access all information at one place, which also means that they will not require to go to different departments for same information. The CEO and Fadnavis also discussed the policies related to financial technology. This meeting was part of yet another initiative of Oracle wherein it is supporting India’s mission of Digital India and Make in India.

Meeting with CEO of 'Symantec'

MoU for Cyber Security between CEO of Symantec, Greg Clark and Fadnavis’ delegationCM Fadnavis met CEO of Symantec, Greg Clark in San Francisco. During meeting, both signed a MoU for cyber security. This will enable the government to create a mechanism for effective cyber policing.
