Pune : The first edition of the India Business Literature Festival (IBLF) which was held on 13th of October 2018, at College of Engineering, Pune, concluded with a lot of grandeur. Top Business Authors from across India graced the one-day event and it was an absolute delight to hear these literary luminaries share their valuable thought and insights, explaining chapters from their books.

Prominent amongst them were Dr. R. A. Mashelkar, National Research Professor and President, Dr. Radhakrishnan Pillai, Dy. Director, Chanakya International Institute of Leadership Studies (CIILS), Anurag Batra, Chairperson and Editor in Chief of BW BusinessWorld, Ajit Rangnekar, Director General, Research & Innovation Circle of Hyderabad, Arun Maira, Former Head Boston Consulting Group and Planning Commission Member, besides Ambi Parmeswaram, Prof. Narsing Rao Gita Piramal, Prakash Iyer, Sameer Dua, Anil Lamba, Sonu Bhasin, Debashis Chatterjee and others.

The innovative format for the one-day event was like TED-TEDx events, where 16 authors were invited to speak. They were divided into four clusters. Each author was provided a maximum of 18 minutes to powerfully present their idea. This ensured that the audience was well captivated through the day long sessions.

'IBLF' is the brainchild of Sameer Dua, Founder Director of Institute for Generative Leadership and a best selling business author; Aruna Katara, President, Hope Foundation and I2IT, a leading Engineering College in India; and, Anurag Batra, Chairperson and Editor in Chief of BW BusinessWorld.

Speakers like Ambi Parmeswaran, Founder, brandbuilding.com and bestselling author highlighted how learning on the job helped create better ideas during his advertising days while Arun Maira spoke on the Power of  Listening to voices that are different from ours. Each author added a personal story with each topic and made the sessions simpler and interesting for the audience.

Says Sameer Dua, who is also the Chief Curator of 'IBLF', “There are already a lot of literature festivals that take place. However, few of them, if at all any, speak on business literature. We felt the need to provide a platform for business authors and business literature. The India Business Literature Festival aims to fill this gap. We hope to provide a stage for new illumination in the area of business, management and leadership.”

Aruna Katara further added, “IBLF became a platform like no other for business authors to showcase their work; to present literature that impacts business theory and practice, and, to foster a love for business writing and reading.”

Anurag Batra had the audience in splits with his funny anecdotes as he shared chapters about his book ‘8 days in a week’.

Dr. B. B. Ahuja added, “We are delighted to be associated with the India Business Literature Festival. It is an absolutely unique offering and the College of Engineering takes pleasure in supporting and partnering with them”.

Over 800 people from different walks of life attended the festival, including students. Each participant at the end of the festival was handed out a free business book sponsored by Harper Business.

“This will be an annual festival, and we will not just limit it in Pune, but we also expect to take this exciting IBLF to other cities across India”, sums up Dua
