Pune to host 'EUFF' from 5th July

Pune : The love for international films and cinematic appreciation in India is at all times high. Promising an unparalleled cinematic journey across Europe, European Union Film Festival (EUFF) today (Fifth July) premiered in Pune, bringing a collection of 22 latest and award winning movies from across Europe. 

The European Union Film Festival will run from 5-11 July at Main Theatre, National Film Archive of India and will bring to the city a selection of some of the finest and most riveting films coming out of Europe today. 'EUFF' promises to be a heady cocktail of rromantic comedy, period drama, mockumentary, satirical humour, family drama, and socio-political thriller. 

Bringing a slice of #EuropeInYourCity,the 24th edition of 'EUFF' features movies from 22 European countries Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. 

Organized by the Delegation of the European Union andembassies of EU Member States in partnership with Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and National Film Archive of India in Goa, the Festival willkick-start with a screening of the Greek movie "Little England." Festival will be inaugurated by  Prakash Magdum, Director, National FilmArchive of India, Ferenc Jari, Consul General of Hungary, Mumbai and Ms. Ulrika Sundberg, Consul General of Sweden, Mumbai

Elaborating on the significance of the 'EUFF', H.E. Tomasz Kozlowski, Ambassador of the European Union to India, said, "We are happy to provide an annual platform for the film enthusiasts to watch award winning European movies sitting right here. I believe that the cinema has a universal appeal and helps to bring people and cultures together. The European Union Film Festival has won a special place in the Indian film calendar and in the hearts of viewers and we hope that 24nd edition of the festival will delight audiences as before."
