Mumbai : Popular film and television actress Ritabhari Chakraborty is making waves in Bollywood. Chakroborty is well known for her role in Bengali daily soaps “Ogo Bodhu Shundori”, “Chokher Tara Tui” & Bengali films like “Chotuskone”, “Damadol”, Kolkatay Columbus”, “Once Upon A Time In Kolkata”, “Bawal”, “Tobu Basanta.” The beauty is being discussed for many of her Bollywood projects, one of them being her music video debut with one of Bollywood's most popular actor & singer, Ayushmann Khurana. Chakroborty was featured in a romantic track with Khurana, titled Orrey Mon.
The video, directed by ‘Haraamkhor’ maker Shlok Sharma, became an instant hit, owing to Chakroborty-Khurana's chemistry and the song's soulful melody. Post this, the actress was seen in yet another music video, with television heartthrob Kunal Karan Kapoor! The track, titled ‘Adda’, sung by national award winner singer & music composer Anupam Roy, lyrics by Swanand Kirkire and composed by famous bangla band “Chandrabindu”, was shot in Kolkata, which happens to be Chakroborty's hometown and was released on April 15. Like ‘Orrey Mon’, Adda too became a sensation.
Aside from music videos, the Bengali babe has also become a popular name on the block, after having featured in short film ‘Naked’, starring Kalki Koechlin. The film essentially highlights violence against women in the realm of social media. The film, which was released on Women's Day this year, was well received and presented Chakroborty in a new light. The actor made an important point about cyber crime and helped raise, the much needed awareness regarding the same.
Now, Chakraborty is all set to be seen alongside Amol Parashar, who rose to instant fame with TVF's popular web series ‘Tripping!’
Having worked with actors such as Ayushman, Kalki, and others, Chakraborty is slowly but steadily turning out to be a force to reckon with in Bollywood!
